SEO Keyword Research Tools

Following is a list of tools that you can utilise in the research of keywords for your website - XS SEO Services UK know that some are better than others. My advice is to use as many keyword research tools as possible to gain as many relevant keyword phrases as you can, then slowly dwindle your list down to the most relevant terms relating to your product / services.

Online Keyword Research Tools

Wordtracker - By far the best online keyword research tool. Offers a trial version so that you can get a feel for the tool and is cheap at just few £'s for a days worth of research. Offers the ability to research phrases, alternate phrases, gives you the number of competing sites / pages and and the number of searches perfomed for your chosen keyword phrase.

Overture - Another good tool to use is Overture, although it only works with singular phrases and not plurals. My advice is to use both Overture and Wordtracker results.

Espotting - No in the same league as the above mentinoned keyword reserach tools, nut still another source to findout out what phrases are being searched for.

Google - Googles keyword sandbox is similar to the above in that it only offer keyword phrase suggestions, but agin another good source for finding those phrases.

Software Keyword Research Tools

Good Keywords - Nifty little, freely available prgram that you can use to research phrases. The program gives you the alternate phrases as well the count per query across several search engines. Also has a Link Popularity Checker.

Even Better Keywords - Another freely availabe tool that gives alternative phrases, the count, competition and a factor. The higher the factor the easier to ganin ranking for the phrase.

Beware! Google states on their website that the use of automated software for the purpose of querying their database is strictly fobidden! So watch out for some programs that query Googles database without a Google API key. Google have been known to ban complete IP ranges for abuse.
